Nikkita Morgan is an Irish textile artist who predominantly works in her studio using a diverse range of art, design & craft methods: primarily creating artwork in response to political and cultural issues. Alongside her practice, she devises and delivers creative workshops and projects within a range of educational and community settings. She predominately leads embroidery-based workshops for school children, college/university students, vulnerable adults, and community groups nationally.
She received her Master’s in Textile Design from Norwich University of the Arts and was a recipient of the Arts and Humanity Research Council Award for her course of study (AHRC). Before embarking on postgraduate study, Morgan was an undergraduate student at University of Wales: Trinity Saint David: Coleg Sir Gar studying a BA (Hons) in Textile, Art, Design & Craft. On completion of her degree she received the Textile Student of the Year Award.

Production of a community, collaborative banner/flag for Perth museum | “Damn Rebel Bitches” | Perth and Kinross Council, together with Culture Perth and Kinross | 2022 | I will be working with the local community in creating a large-scale collaborative textile banner that will be housed in Perth’s new museum in 2024.
Production of a community, collaborative textile artwork for Inverkeithing’s Town House | “Inverkeithing stitching in Time” | Fife Historic Buildings Trust on behalf of Fife Council | 2021 | I worked with local community groups in creating a large-scale collaborative textile artwork, centered on Inverkeithing’s histories dating back to the 12th Century for Inverkeithing’s historic town house.
Community arts commission | “Voices for Equity” | Shetland Islands Council on behalf of the Shetland Partnership | 2019 | A community arts project to raise awareness of stigma and inequalities that impacted people living in Shetland. The outcome resulted in a large-scale embroidered artwork that reflected a positive response to the brief.
